Description

Keto Arepas are delicious gluten-free flatbreads made with almond flour, perfect for filling with savory ingredients.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup almond flour
  • 1 cup grated cheese (e.g., mozzarella or cheddar)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 pinch salt
  • Optional: Spices or herbs of choice (e.g., paprika, oregano, or rosemary)

Instructions

  1. Mix the almond flour, grated cheese, egg, baking powder, and salt in a bowl until a homogeneous mixture forms.
  2. Form small balls of dough about the size of a golf ball, then flatten slightly to make discs about 1–1.5 cm thick.
  3. Heat a pan over medium heat and add oil. Once hot, place the flat Arepas in the pan.
  4. Fry for 4–5 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy.
  5. Remove the Arepas from the pan and allow them to cool slightly before filling.
  6. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

You can prepare Arepas in advance and freeze them. Just fry frozen Arepas for 5 minutes on each side to heat through.
